VREDESTEIN SUPPORTS COPPA DELLE ALPI 2019
Known as the ‘most beautiful race in the world’ the Mille Miglia attracts many of the most exclusive classic cars from all over the world during their annual four-day summer event. In addition, the Coppa delle Alpi – the winter edition of Mille Miglia - was revived in December 2019 for the first time since decades. As main sponsor, Vredestein was participating with two competitive teams to report the event.

THE VREDESTEIN TEAM
Two vehicles will represent Vredestein on the 1200-kilometre journey during Coppa delle Alpi 2019. The first will see Mr Giovanni Moceri & Mr Daniele Bonetti driving an Alfa Romeo Giulia GT fitted with 155/80 R15 Snow Classic tyres. The second team comprises Mr Mario Passanante & Ms Anna Maria Pisciotta in a Fiat 1100/103 with the latest version of the 175/70 R14 Snowtrac 5. The highly contemporary performance of these tyres combined with the expertise and experience of the drivers will serve these vintage cars very well over the days ahead.

THE ROUTE
For the 2019 edition, officially included in the Italian Major Events Championship, 47 cars between the 1st and the 6th grouping, that is until 1976, competed on a route along the breath-taking views of the Alpine arc, crossing the Italian alpine mountains, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
On the first day of the race, Wednesday 4th of December, the cars started traditionally from Brescia going towards Lake Gard. After the lunch break in Fai della Paganella, they crossed the Passo della Mendola going down towards the Adige Valley to reach Bolzano and end the leg in Bressanone.
The second leg, the crews headed towards the Dolomites and entered Austrian territory through the Brenner Pass: from Innsbruck, they proceeded to Seefeld for dinner and overnight stay.
During the third leg, the cars crossed the territories of Austria, Germany, and back through Italy to end the day in St Moritz, Switzerland.
The fourth and final leg, on Saturday the 7th of January, the participants proceeded from to Valtellina and Valle Camonica to end in Ponte di Legno: after a night climb from Passo del Tonale, the award ceremony took place at 2.753 metres, on the Presena Glacier, inside the Adamello Brenta Natural Park and on the slopes of Piandineve.
